As the name suggests, the earcuffs are irregularly shaped. Both ends are thick enough to fit snugly around the ears, but the parts that come into contact with the ears are thin enough to fit beautifully without discomfort. Many people think that this discoloration is due to rust, but in fact it has turned black due to a reaction called sulfidation.
Sulfur components in the air, sweat, and hot springs (hot springs without sulfur will not react)
The process by which silver turns black as a result of reacting with is called sulfidation.
There is also a technique called "smoking" that deliberately blackens silver.
